Travel now and work later?
As millennials begin to take over the workplace, many also leave their jobs, some lucrative, to travel and live a more non-traditional lifestyle. Many say they’re burned out at work and plan to travel, intending to rejoin the workforce when ready. LinkedIn managing editor Chip Cutter spoke with millennials to get their take, and the number one question was, “when I rejoin the workforce, how do I do so and explain the gap to my employers.” To their surprise, employers understand these gaps and are beginning to implement different perks for their employees to keep them.
A few of the perks are:
The ability to work from home
4-day work weeks
Sabbaticals
Commute Allowance
Flexible Work Hours
With these perks, it is beginning to look like companies are taking heed of the needs/wants of millennials and that understanding the millennial mindset in the workplace equals success.
