Welcome All Park hosts a Family Fun Fall Festival

As you know, Halloween (Oct. 31) and all of the festivities surrounding it are fast approaching. Many are out and about looking for costumes and gathering candy for tick-or-treaters. If this was you and you were looking for something to do this past Saturday in Atlanta, then the “Family Fun Fall Festival” was for you!

South Fulton County Parks and Recreation held the event in partnership with District 3 Councilwoman Helen Willis and Mayor William Edwards aWelcome All Park. The Family Fun Fall Festival started around 5 p.m. and is scheduled to end around 9 p.m. It featured many family-friendly activities, including face painting, video games, and a youth costume contest. Also, there were booths/tables set up for local businesses and people to promote themselves and their causes. After the costume contest, there was also a movie showing of Hotel Transylvania 3 in the gymnasium.

Some booths were ChikinartBreast Care Awareness, and a kiosk for Councilwoman Helen Zenobia Willis. Courtney Patrick, the local artist behind Chikinart, displayed her art, which consisted of paintings/drawings of superheroes and other notable characters. This fits right in line with many of the costumes that were present. Check out some of her art here

Regarding food, there were two food trucks, “Bout the Sides Of It” and “Louvenia’s.” Both catering companies are native to the state, with Bout the Sides Of It based in Atlanta and Louvenia’s in Dublin, GA.

Overall, the event was a success. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and everything came together nicely. Make sure to look out for this event next year and come out and support the community!
